NZ business deals site launches
Under cover of the highly publicized wave of business-to-consumer daily deals websites, a new operator has slipped in to present a new option to a previously untapped market - businesses seeking to offer their wares to other companies at massively discounted bulk rates. BizDeal (www.BizDeal.co.nz) officially launches today to facilitate direct B2B deals designed to help businesses shave down key expense lines as they continue to navigate the recession.
BizDeal's founder, online marketing specialist Scott Jackson, has kicked off the business with a big fish, BP, which has come on board as BizDeal's partner in the hard-fought petrol sector. "To illustrate how a business might use the BP deal through BizDeal, the business buys the deal for a $50 card, which on presentation gets them $200 worth of fuel. The purchase of the card contracts them to BP for future fuel purchases at discounted rates.
The deal applies to any vehicle designated by a company as a company vehicle, so anyone from a SME operator to the owner of a taxi or other transportation firm is eligible. Any number of vehicles may be included in the deal, as long as they are designated company cars and a card is purchased for each vehicle.
"Any business owner or CFO can easily calculate the value of a permanent fuel discount to the business over time, if they're already tracking that expenditure," Mr Jackson says. "The goal of BizDeal is to offer these types of deals, which allow companies to benefit from competition in the same way that consumers have with B2C sites."
BizDeal's target audience is New Zealand's 600,000 registered limited liability companies, and deals are tailored to meet the needs of this audience. During the site's first three weeks, five deals will be offered per week in each centre. Other current deals include $1 to sign up for the payroll service Smart Payroll, a discount for bulk purchases from EFTPOS provider Viaduct NZ, and discounts for printing services.
