Good stuff Kate Lawson/ The Detroit News One good contestThe Health Alliance Plan (HAP) invites foodies and home cooks to enter the Retro Recipe Redo contest and transform a family favorite recipe from the past into a healthy, delicious and easy-to-prepare dish. To celebrate HAP's 50th anniversary the contest, as part of the "Happy Together Summer Fest," challenges contestants in Genesee, Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties to cut the fat, calories and/or salt from favorite family recipes without compromising taste or ease of preparation. Entries will be accepted through July 31, 2011. Semi-finalists will be invited to share their Redo Recipe dish at the Happy Together Summer Fest events in West Bloomfield, Flint, Detroit and Warren. Prizes include a private dinner prepared by a professional chef, fitness discounts and cooking classes. There is no cost to enter and contest guidelines, recommendations and entry form can be found at hap.org/50th.
